Advancing from Blackness
Divisible by three: Realness,
Rhythm, and resplendence;
I confess to presence
Rootless and kind, shone for you
Off your cuff, off your puzzlement
I've lived in bars sharper and more open
Than these I hastily wrote for the judges
To afford them cause to grant me fellowship
Arriving in my own tune and raiment
Last to the party of fucks to give
An incorrigible princess too sharp to believe
I beg of the producers to record the following
At five-ninths' speed squared against my right to live:
I am she, they, and beyond your reach
Having a goddess with their own problems
Always surprising themselves with smiles
Tied behind their back in saints' stance
Arrows for the side, the emphasis, the food
Hunted for thoughts in a crying game of sorts
Out of the parade and onto the laps of therapists
Passing as knives through water
I change shape alongside reversal
Of life's march to the tune of no ordinary
Love arriving without consequence
